Mica, a chemically complex mineral, is an important electrical insulating material with the added advantage of high resistance to high temperatures. Besides, it is flexible, tough, transparent and chemically stable. Mica has low head conductivity coupled with great dielectric strength. The two varieties of mica that are commercially important are Muscovite mica and Phlogopite mica. While Muscovite is a hydrous potassium aluminium silicate, Phlogopite is a hydrous magnesium aluminum silicate, commonly known as Amber mics. Muscovite mica is found in two colours. ruby and green. RME deals in both colours and holds ready stock for supply at short notice. The visual quality classification of Muscovite mica is broadbased. RME exports all types of quality such as optical flat mica, backing mica and so on according to the needs of individual buyers. Condenser films have three main qualities: first quality, second quality and third quality. The main uses of condenser films are in mica capacitors and condensers. RME takes all possible care in the dressing of films so that they are fully trimmed and made free from all openings and delaminations and other inherent defects that exist within the usable area of the films.Passing of condenser films is specialised job. So, it is entrusted to expert workers who possess thorough knowledge of quality and can eliminate all types of defects that are not permissible in condenser films.

Muscovite mica is categorised as: Processed mica Mica scrap and factory cuttings Fabricated mica Manufactured mica. Processed mica has five divisions: mica blocks of all varieties; mica condenser films of all varieties; bookform and dusted loose splittings of all grades; Manufactured mica. no. 6 loose splittings of all grades; thin mica-below 0.18 mm (0.007") in thickness.
